Customer Disservice - Bill Pay problems from Chases website
I have been a chase customer since March when they took over Washington Mutual. I encountered my first problem the first month the bill was due. It took 6 tries to get the website to accept an online payment. I had to check every other day for 12 days and chase why the payments were not posted. For all my trouble, I still incurred a late fee charge. I suspected this happened again in May and know for sure it happened again in August. Around comes October, I submitted a payment on October first. I started receiving text messages the day after my bill was due that they had not received payment. I have since tried again to no avail. Fed up. This has cost me 4 x $39 in fees and they have raised my rate by 10%. Today 10/15 is the first time through this process, that I have been told I need a confirmation# to dispute a website problem. You would have thought somewhere in the other 7 verbal complaints someone would have mentioned this. I also complained that there is no place to review pending payments. Guess what you are suppose to know that the link that says "see cancel payment" allows you to view pending payments. Intuitive isn't. With all the trouble that I've had why wouldn't one of the customer service clerks suggest I check there to ensure my transaction had been logged. Is it because they are trying to raise revenue? It's the only thing that makes since to me. The RUDE supervisor asked why I continued to use the website, when it failed intermittently. I don't receive a paper bill, the bill is not viewable when using safari on a MAC, there are no branches with 50 miles that I can make a payment locally. The IT guy, who finally told me how to view pending payments, again from the "see cancel payment" link, stated that their website never fails to record a payment. I use the web exclusively to pay my bills, yet this is the only website that I am having difficulty with. What can be done about these unfair practices. I can assure you that when the economy turns around Chase will not be a bank or credit card provider that I would recommend. As a matter of fact, I intend to share my experience with anyone who will listen.
"I was trying to help a dear friend and I came across MeasuredUp. I was able to post something about my friend on MeasuredUp and it helped tremendously in resolving the problem. I'm sure MeasuredUp will be one that I'll rely on in the future. Great job!"
